Advantages of Blogging in Business

Generating traffic for your blog is the toughest part once your business is set up. It’s a similar thing as a Doctor starts his practice, after his education and need of getting patients. But we seem to be lucky unlike doctors where performance is the key measure, online business has many factors for generating traffic and the critical one is BLOG!!

For a brick and mortar business, the sales I mean direct sale is the only way to crack a deal. But that case is not applied to online business. Getting customers and making them trade with you is the priority you need to focus, but gaining new customer, branding your business is also other priorities which you need to focus on. As always priority one usually eats your time and the other items would be neglected or sidelined to be handled in future.

Blogging is an effective way to assemble your audience and increase traffic and retailing for your business.

Let’s take a quick look on how to do it and advantages of blogging in business?

A blog post increases traffic to your business website for the simple reason that it improves SEO, so the hits which you get while narrating story is actually converted into customers, giving you an opportunity to engage the person on social media . Also, who knows if it could lead for a column in newspaper which is usually considered to be trustworthy source for civilians. So you publish more good content that means more visibility for your business

Page ranking improves with blogging

Size doesn’t matter here, whether you are small firm, a mid size or largest of the industry. Blogging for beginners is a simple means of saying what is going on in your firm. Evan smaller audience would read the content anyways, so you need to dive into blogging world.

Blogging doesn’t mean that you need to have the fanciest content out there, but it should be a reflection of the customers and firm. But why am I boasting so much for blogging in eCommerce, here are the reasons -

A blog page is adding a new page to your website, which has internal links pointing to your home page. And so more pages simply means more internal links. Internal links should exist, but it would be much better if you can link other sites. As when the article is shared on social media and has a linking to other sites, it improves your page ranking. Its like, you already know “ABC” is pretty good in terms of ranking so use it, in your blog to improve ranking rather than using internal link of your product. And the more you use these links, the more traffic gets generated.

It’s like , the lesson learnt in Chemistry “like dissolves like” so if you want to get more traffic choose links which are already doing so, once you do it for a good amount of number, it would improve your overall rank leading to more hits, customers and more sales.

Also, make sure to update your blog regularly, as the frequency also determines the ranking, Search engines keep tracking these changes and keep pushing the less frequency blog to lower ranks. For a page how would you tell the search engine that you have a life or you are dead? By posting things. Right? So frequency is important and has a crucial role to play in your page ranking. Fix a schedule for your blog post, if you have to leave or won’t be available schedule those posts in advance but don’t miss it.

Another opportunity blogging provides to enhance page ranking is usage of key phrases, these phrases are nothing but the keywords you are targeting. Once you link the blog post to your product page, these keywords which are usually used for search would be caught by the search engine leading to more traffic. You yourself can create impact-full internal links with the help of rich text that could be linked to your product pages.

Storytelling could be best approached by Blogging

Still looking for reason, I’ll give you another as you have the luxury of building audience of returning customers.

Social media, Twitter, Pininterest, Instagram,FB could help socializing but at the end its your story written on the blog which should be given the credit. You can spend hours on twitter following ‘n’ unknown people and liking the weirdest posts just to promote your product page, but you need to realize it’s eating up your time and is it producing any results?

The nature of blog is simple enough, a headline, which indicates what is narrated in the upcoming lines, now it’s up to you to build a story with images, video, infographics or plain simple words. Describing story which connects to the customers, narration about your product to help them visualize and build trust, on how great tech specs you possess, people would respond to these with open heart.

A foundation story, the obstacles, the journey, the facts and the learning, this all is the nicer way of connecting to the customer with heart. May be your failure has something in relation to your X product launch. Do you remember how Nano idea was clicked to Ratan tata? He simply saw a family of four of two wheeler, in rainy season, that he made up his mind to launch a low budget four wheeler.

You are Visible to the world with a Blog

When you wrote something good, bad or ugly people would read it, curse it applaud it and so they would share it and share it more. The more sharing the better rank and more visibility. For search engines all links, all sharing via social media, all blogs sharing your link provide a better ranking to your webpage.

You can’t promote your About Us page every alternate days, you won’t be launching new categories every fortnightly, and you are not giving sales every month. So tweeting and promoting these events would be once upon a time in two-three months. Hence you need to be innovative, creative artistic to create content, if it’s really good you may get press coverage and once you are noticed by media, you are sure to get free advertising and much more traffic to handle.

Branding is very necessary for your product to be sold out. And that branding could only be created via blogging, as people come to know about the other side of business, they start knowing you and your business. That knowing is necessary and hence visibility is another vital factor which blogging can bring in.

Finally to conclude

Blogging is a sure shot of getting more traffic and it helps in selling your products.

And also consider the fact that once you write it, it is for sure to live there for ages, may be in Archives or up in the rack shelf!

And if you are thinking you are already late in picking this strategy. It’s never too late to start with… Add a new page to your website and let your mind churn to pick the best content for your first post.
